Support the Project Director in leading the development of a culture based on nuclear safety and quality, acting as a role model for the internal team and all interfaces associated with the project. Provide specialist advisory services, independent governance and assurance for the contract through a competent and motivated team, help foster and maintain a positive culture and mature understanding of nuclear safety and quality across both the delivery team and the wider business.

Key Responsibilities:

Developing the Compliance and Standards team and maintaining suitable competent Security, Quality and EHS resources to support the delivery of assurance, technical advice and the ongoing development of the Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental, Quality and Information Security Management arrangements for the Contract
Providing the Contract with competent Security, Quality and EHS advice as required by UK law and regulations associated with the Nuclear Industry.
Working with the customer, the internal team and all other interfaces to provide appropriate governance to ensure the relevant Contract Delivery and Assurance Documents (e.g. CQAP and CEMP) are developed, reviewed, approved and controlled in line with agreed Client arrangements.
Set, assign and deliver Quality, Security and EHS objectives and targets, and action plans that support the delivery of the contract requirements.
Ensure all project specific Quality, EHS & Security legislation and regulatory requirements are translated into appropriate instructions and arrangements.
Ensure that standards and controls for Quality, Security and EHS are designed into business processes and managed through effective assurance arrangements,
Ensure the development and delivery (by SQEP) of a risk-based assurance regime for the contract,
Acting as primary point of contact for all client assurance activity for the project and the provision of information for appropriate performance and compliance reviews.
Ensure effective problem solving, continual improvement and defect management processes and arrangements are implemented and managed within the contract.
Functional matrix reporting to the QEHS Director with escalation of concerns and provision of performance visibility for governance and assurance oversight

Deliverables include:
Developing the QEHS and Security Strategy for the contract
Providing effective document control services
Development of Terms of Reference for and management of the Contract Safety Forum
Advising on suitable SQEP requirements for document review and approval
Provision of induction and other culture development materials for Quality, EHS & Security
Assurance of the contract induction programme
Provision of effective risk-based assurance, advice and guidance across the project
Provision of governance and performance monitoring reports
