The Maintenance Tasking SME should, through the effective utilisation of subject matter knowledge and Maintenix experience, support the delivery of Maintenance Tasking & Verification at strategic and tactical levels, to enable the maximisation of operational efficiency and minimisation of costs.
The Post Holder should have good to strong quantitative and analytical skills/experience, with Lean management principles, and be an effective, credible communicator with good interpersonal skills. They require product knowledge and a good understanding of the relationship with interfacing / contributory areas and are able to analyse and interpret data with a high level of attention to detail along with a detailed knowledge of Maintenix.
Against the requirements of the approved Tactical Fleet plan, and the Fleet Maintenance Plan (where applicable), analyse the maintenance requirements for specific aircraft or components, highlight and, where practical, resolve any issues and ensure the timely creation of the Statement of Work (SoW).
Develop and maintain the associated work package(s), including the technical instructions, resource and materiel requirements for the individual maintenance activity. Ensure independent inspection and safety critical task requirements are documented and appropriately identified.
Undertake the planning of additional and emergent work during maintenance, to ensure work load is managed effectively against schedule requirements. Ensure the Statement of Work is updated and re-authorised to reflect any changes.
Use Maintenix to deliver the Maintenance Tasking through the functionality of the tool and the Business Processes.
Work with Fleet Planning, Demand Management, Part 145 organisation(s), Technical Services, Airworthiness Records and third party suppliers in order to deliver the required standards of continuing airworthiness and contract delivery.
Review and report on the effectiveness of maintenance task performance in Forward, Depth and Suppliers and escalate any issues as appropriate. Review and report on the effectiveness of the SoW, Pre-Input and Post-Output Review Meeting (PIRM & PORM) processes, maintenance task performance and additional / emergent work requirements across all responsible maintenance locations, both On & Off aircraft. Ensure any trends are identified and escalated, as appropriate.
Ensure changes in the Customer's requirements are reviewed for impact on the Maintenance Tasking & Verification activity and implemented appropriately, e.g. Fatigue Life limits, Capability upgrades, Customer-approved modification programmes, etc.
Against the requirements defined in the approved SoW, including any amendments where applicable, assess the maintenance activity detailed in the certificate of maintenance, to assure that all requirements have been completed, or correctly authorised and deferred.
