The GSE Mechanical or Electrical/Avionic Supervisor reports to the GSE Workshop Team leader and is an experienced and skilled mechanical or Electrical/Avionic Supervisor, undertaking and supervising a wide range of scheduled & unscheduled maintenance & repair activities across a wide range of aircraft ground equipment's. Must have the ability to work effectively, efficiently and safely, fault finding by employing diagnostic techniques. Must be able to effectively manage multiple tasks using their team to help discharge the work.
The post holder will be able to demonstrate excellent management skills, awareness of Health and Safety, the hazards and risks when undertaking maintenance tasks, ensuring staff are taking all necessary precautions. Needs to be aware of their and their team's impact to the flying programme, the broader external dependencies and identifies areas for continuous improvement.
Understand and be cognisant of the regulatory environment they are operating in and ensure the Acceptable Means of Compliance documents that govern Part 145 activities are used.
Undertake scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspection and repair activities on the components in the GSE bay and across site. Ensuring all work carried out by the team has been completed in accordance with the using the relevant approved technical information in the Vendor manuals. Resolving faults and maintenance issues, including an awareness spares consumption and stock replenishment / re-ordering.
Undertake fault diagnostic activities of GSE components which may include, as appropriate, component removals, inspections, repairs, modifications, fault rectifications, replacements and/or functional/system test.
Demonstrates a flexible and proactive attitude to carrying out responsibilities appropriate to the role and provides direction appropriately.
Supervise the completion of support tasks within the GSE bay facility / across site, which are required to maintain compliance with the MOE and regulatory procedures (e.g. oversight checks, control of tooling / Calibration checks on test equipment etc.)
Undertake fault evaluation and raise ad hoc work cards for 'found faults'.
Ensure the teams 'time' is booked to the correct jobs.
Responsible for meeting agreed delivery targets in the short to medium term.
Progress reporting against delivery targets to senior management.
Ensure the team keep up to date with all 'authorisations', proving currency through Log Books appropriate within trade and skills boundaries.
Demonstrates sound and comprehensive communication and customer awareness skills in order to exchange and deal with / hand over complicated information.
