JOB PURPOSE.
1.1 Aircraft handling, refuelling/defueling, cleaning & weapon loading.

MAIN ACTIVITIES AND TASKS.
2.1 Carry out aircraft handling, including towing, as tasked by the Engineering Controller/Inspector in accordance with published Procedures and Instructions.
2.2 Aircraft refuelling and defueling including APU refuels.
2.3 Authorised to sign for fuel state.
2.4 Aircraft marshalling.
2.5 Preparation of aircraft for flight and security of aircraft after flight, including checks for correct safeing of aircraft and armaments.
2.6 Aircraft weapon preparation, loading/unloading (drill rounds only) and associated maintenance in accordance with published Procedures and Instructions.
2.7 Assistance with aircraft role changes.
2.8 Fitting aircraft blanks, covers and tying down the aircraft.
2.9 Aircraft cleaning and washing.
2.10 Participate in exercise detachments and aircraft recovery operations as required.
2.11 Operation and before use inspection of AGE and Hanger 5 facilities as directed.
2.12 Administration and cleanliness of the Line Office.
2.13 To drive, maintain (class "A" tasks only) and clean LHUK and MOD-issued vehicles, including the LHUK car and minibus, and the MOD tractor, aircraft tug and MHE as required.
2.14 FOD clearance and checking the security of the dispersal area.
2.15 Carry out Hangar 5 security duties at the beginning and the end of the working day, a rostered.
2.16 Any other tasks as directed by the Engineering Controller.
2.17 Hangar management tasks and non-aircraft related tasks to maintenance and up-keep of Hangar 5 equipment and furnishings as directed by the appropriate ACM manager.

Shift pattern: Monday to Friday, alternate days 07:00-13:30 & 13:00-22:00. (21:00 on Friday, also a night shift will stay on until 02:00, twice a week with the next day off as TOIL on a rota basis).
