Morson International have an exciting vacancy for a Graduate Training Manager based in Yeovil for a leading Aerospace Company.

The primary purpose of this role is to manage the continuous improvement of a population of trainees from within the Graduate Development Programme.

As a member of the Employee Development Team, contribute to the delivery of training and development activity in terms of identifying needs, evaluating the impact of activities and continuously refining processes to enable effective delivery. Provide support to the People and Development Training Manager by having a proficient level of employee development expertise to enable effective and timely delivery of relevant tasks, projects and objectives to meet business needs.

Key Job Accountabilities

  • Ensuring placements are planned in order to meet the interests of the trainee and the needs of the business
  • Produce a folder for each graduate on their arrival to include placement plan, guidelines and useful information
  • Conduct quarterly reviews with the trainee and the placement supervisor to ensure they are working to the objectives set as well as working to ensure their own continuous professional development
  • Produce a quarterly report for each trainee to support the quarterly review
  • Carry out a yearly assessment for each trainee using the PDM ( Performance Development Management) system
  • Planning and organising standard training courses and activities for the trainee, including a thorough induction upon arrival
  • Helping trainee to identify their own development needs and offering support and advice on the best way to address these needs

  • Interpersonal and team skills (ability to and communicate at all levels)
  • Organisation skills and ability to prioritise tasks
  • Facilitation skills (to support training and development activities)
  • Negotiation skills (dealing with suppliers)
  • Computer literate (competent with company standard software including SAP)
  • Financial/budget awareness
  • Interviewing skills
  • Understanding of psychometric assessment tools such as DISC etc
  • Coaching skills
  • Knowledge of the graduate market in the UK
  • Educated to HNC or equivalent
