ATLAS ELEKTRONIK UK, has a requirement to expand its project management capability to support current and future growth in the submarine market. They develop, supply and support cutting-edge maritime technology for customers worldwide. Based in Winfrith, Dorset, ATLAS ELEKTRONIK UK work closely with the UK Royal Navy to create products which protect lives at sea.

Each year, ATLAS ELEKTRONIK UK takes on new apprentices and university graduates. They are dedicated to developing the next generation of talent in engineering and technology.

We are keen to hear from individuals who have a degree in the following (or related science/engineering subjects) and are looking to pursue a career in Project Management:

  • Electrical/Electronic Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Software Engineering
  • Systems Engineering
  • Marine Science
  • Marine Design

You will be given guidance and mentoring to develop your skills in the field of Project Management. This could typically include involvement in the following:

  • Defining the project structure, planning and building on the information generated during the bid phase
  • Definition of the Project Team that will lead the project delivery
  • Clear definition and placement of work packages including key subcontracts required to deliver the project
  • Ensuring appropriate risk, opportunity, security, trade controls, quality and configuration management for the project
  • Planning, monitoring, control and update of the project including management of project Life Cycle
  • Management gate reviews
  • Ensuring that the contract remains up to date and consistent with the project goals and business objectives
  • Ensuring that contract milestones are met and that cash flow is optimised
  • Project Management of Bids, including internal bid reviews, programme definition, project management documentation, risk management

What we are looking for in you:

  • Interest or past experience in engineering or the marine industry
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and be able to interact with people at all levels both within the company and externally
  • Computer literacy in order to operate information systems. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Any experience with MS Project would be beneficial
  • Able to build rapport and develop working relationships
  • Strong team focus
  • Strong time management skills
  • Ability to work independently at times under own initiative
  • Ability to use own initiative when working under pressure
  • Prioritise and manage personal workload to ensure deadlines are achieved
  • Willingness to travel in the UK and overseas
