This position is responsible for the assurance of compensation and benefit programs within the business, providing governance of regular and new programs and when there are changes in legislation that have an impact on those programs. This role is also responsible for projects that enable the business to deliver market-leading offerings that have a high impact for employees and help to retain a competitive edge.
Plan, execute and communicate updates on projects related to compensation and benefits as required by the business or changes in legislation.
Feasibility review and implementation where required of initiatives that enable the business to provide a market leading, competitive package to employees.
Continuous improvement of internal process and communication tools, working with the wider team to implement and modernise ways of working to enable efficient provision of service to the business.
Effective communication to the business in order to refresh understanding of and inform of changes to the package and benefits available to them.
Oversight of agreements/contracts with pension and benefit advisors, fee budgets and service levels.
Oversight of annual benefit renewals making sure that we are getting the best for employees given the premium paid and implementing/communicating plan changes where needed to achieve this.
Work closely with third party outsourced benefit broker to research market trends and issues and use that intelligence to present a strong business case for recommended changes.
Work closely with the business on maintenance of and changes to the governance structure of all benefit and pension plans.
Manage external advisor/trustee/company relationships and be the escalation point for operational issues working closely with other team members for support.
Lead the governance of, timing and format of shareholder meetings to engage with all stakeholders and provide support to the Compensation and Benefit team with regards to matters that require approval.
Develop proposals for developments and changes in employee package for discussion with Shareholders and presentation of agreed recommendations to the AAG.
Project management of initiatives as required by the business or improvements to enhance service.
Joint Venture representative for the DC Governance Committee.
Review of processes to propose efficiencies including use of the HR and other systems wherever possible to carry out transactions in real time, removing the need for manual forms and process.
Participate as a member of the Human Resources Emergency Response Team
Professional Skills & Experience
Strong technical experience of compensation and benefit programmes
*Strong proficiency in office PC applications, especially Excel
