The post holder will undertake a range of flight line maintenance activities on an aircraft.
At this level the post holder is competent to work to basic maintenance instructions, has a working appreciation of the approved data set and works in accordance with the organisation's AMC documentation set.
Demonstrates the ability to follow procedures and work effectively within a team and provide guidance to other junior team members (if applicable) in a dynamic operational environment.
Undertake a limited range of flight line activities on an aircraft (in line with currency and recency), which may include, as appropriate, Aircraft Ground Handling, towing / parking / picketing, use of airside radios to cover emergencies / vehicle movements (e.g. calling for refuelling bowser / fire cover), aircraft fuelling / defuelling, Before, Turn Around and After flight inspections / servicings, opening / closing and final checking of panels, checking oils and levels (including top up), tyre inflation / deflation, aircraft walkround inspections (including updating husbandry log), positioning of Hydraulic rigs and connection and disconnection of GPU's (where trained and authorised), removal / installation of blanking media and fitment / stowage of undercarriage locks, application of anti icing fluids, positioning of steps for cockpit access, aircrew strap in, headset interface with aircrew, aircraft start up & pre flight checks, aircraft marshalling (see in / see off).
Assisting Mechanics and Technicians as supervised (100%) and instructed, in minor fault rectifications and the associated functional / system test.
Timely and accurate completion of all aircraft paperwork.
Awareness of how the team integrates with others in order to achieve the overall objectives of the area and demonstrates an understanding of the requirement for continuous improvement and its application.
