Morson international (Accountancy and Finance) Division is assisting with the recruitment to the position of Financial Accountant

Role Overview:

As the Financial Accountant you will be responsible for 6 statutory entities with a combined turnover of £115m. This role is specifically tasked with the tax reporting (VAT/PAYE/CT) for the business along with contributing to the efficient, timely and accurate completion of various monthly and year-end accounting tasks. This role also includes the maintenance of the accounting system including reporting as required. This role will (along with the assistant accountant) form the key support to the financial controller in ensuring that all management reporting, year-end statutory reporting and group reporting deadlines are met..

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the post holder's key responsibilities will be, but not limited to:

Responsibility for the business tax reporting including preparation and consolidation of the quarterly group VAT return, review of and submission and payment of the monthly PAYE and preparation of the companies Corporation Tax Packs for submission to group
Responsibility for maintaining the company leasing schedule, updating for new leases, disposing of expired leases and reconciling to the management accounts on a monthly basis
Monthly inter-company reconciliations, including sales ledger, purchase ledger and nominal ledger balances
Maintenance of the accounting system including reporting as required
Responsibility for preparing and distributing the monthly finance month end timetable and the adherence thereof, preparation of certain key balance sheet reconciliations, preparation of the monthly charts and graphs for inclusion in the P&L packs and various other monthly and year-end tasks
Initial preparation of forecasts and budgets in conjunction with operations accountants, FC and FD in line with group timetable

Person Specification:

The ideal candidate will possess/ be

A degree level or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
1- 3 years post qualification experience.
Previous experience in an accounting management role.
Proficient user of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
The ability to plan and prioritise your work load, ensuring that deadlines are met.
Excellent communication skills.
