Purpose of role:

Provision of high quality Project Accounting support to the Programme Director through effective processes, high quality analysis of data and effective communications cross-functionally within the Programme and with the Finance function.

The Finance Manager will be a key team member of the Programme Support team. The role is tasked with informing the Management Team with the financial status of the Programme.

This will include:

Provision of experienced financial support to the Programme by building and maintaining effective relationships and ensuring robust financial challenge and control.

Review of all Programme Finance Reports including labour bookings, in-year spend, outstanding commitments, risk & opportunity profiles and delivery among others.

Critically, the role will have a key interface with the customer community, through regular engagements on invoicing of actual costs and forecast of outturn.

Additionally, the role will be responsible for identifying new ways to report key information. It is critical to distil a significant amount of complex data into critical information.

Key Technical Skills

Demonstrable track record of effective financial management of long term contracts

Top 4 Major Tasks and Activities:

Responsibility for managing customer invoicing and forecasting processes

Actively support and continuously challenge Programme EAC updates (including change, risk and opportunity)

Attend and actively support and contribute to Project Reviews

Oversee monthly cost allocation and verification processes

Additional Key Accountabilities:

Support all internal and external audit activities

Understand and assess change impacts

Continuously self-assess process compliance through COSA process

Oversee CAAS investigation during cost certification process

Drive functional and programme continuous improvement objectives

Support SHE and Quality agendas through regular process confirmation


CIMA Qualified or Equivalent
