We are recruiting a Finance Assistant (Project Accounting) to join our team in Glasgow on a 6-month fixed-term basis.
Your role will be to assist with the Financial Management and administrative duties of designated projects. You will also provide financial support to the Project Management Team and communicate vital project information to internal and external stakeholders, including clients and management teams.
*Prepare and issue sales invoices for multiple projects, including overseas and foreign currency projects
*Creation of project/task structures in Oracle accounting system to enable cost and sales bookings effectively and promptly
*Regular reconciliation and contract ledger maintenance tasks to ensure contract cost and sales data is accurate on a monthly basis
*Work to tight deadlines built in to the monthly fiscal cycle of work
*Provide project financial information and reports to project teams on a regular basis
*Communication with branch offices across the world in regard to cross booking costs in multiple currencies
*Ensure compliance with Standard Finance Operation Practices and Sarbanes-Oxley
*Preparation of weekly and monthly reports as required by the Business and by project teams.
*Attendance at project meetings as required and monthly operations meetings
*Provide support to accounting management for reporting, reconciliations and troubleshooting to meet deadlines.
*A self-starter with a determination to get the job done, whilst maintaining a meticulous approach to detail
*A pro-active individual with willingness to ensure financial accuracy across multiple projects and communicate ideas and issues effectively
*Familiarity with Financial Systems and Intermediate to advanced Excel
*Ability to interact with Senior Management and non-finance project managers
*Ability to prioritise workload and manage conflicting deadlines
*Experience of working in a large ($150M+) US company
*Knowledge of Oracle systems
*Educated to Higher Level
