This role requires extensive experience of early lifecycle finite element model (FEM) development and optimisation processes within a multi-disciplinary airframe development environment and will require the capability to approve FEM analyses for use by the stress analysis teams.
*Plan, estimate and control structural analysis tasks for programme activities within span of control.
*Develop, deploy and integrate structural and aero-structural optimisation methods into the wider airframe development activity
*Approve structural analyses methods and production structural analysis models.
*Deploy and govern structural analysis methods, processes and data for programme activities within agreed span of control including informing on modelling guidelines and approaches and setting up FE model management plans.
*Lead and manage the programme structural analysis team allocated within agreed span of control, deploying mandated people processes as necessary
*Provide a leadership contribution to the management and development of the structural analysis engineering toolset and processes within the Structures discipline
*Provide a leadership contribution to the management and development of the programme structural analysis team.
*Minimum 15 years of experience in the subject for similar platform
*Previous experience in the concept design phase of fast jets
Candidates should ideally have an active UK SC/NATO security clearance or if not current must be eligible and willing to undertake the required clearance understanding that the position cannot be commenced until the clearance is in place.
Location: Eastern Europe - long term position
