We are recruiting for Marine experienced Fabricators/Platers for work in Devonport dockyard in Plymouth to carry out ship re-fit & repair work.
Your role will play an integral part in ensuring the serviceability of warships and systems through detailed maintenance and refit periods by working within multi–trade teams. Undertaking outfitting and light fabrication on board warships playing a key part in each upkeep. This will include working in a variety of compartments and with a wide range of materials including aluminium and steel. A high level of attention to detail and careful, neat working are all important attributes that you should have.
Working to engineering drawings and technical specifications, under taking surveys and examinations of parts or components.
You will require the ability to read engineering drawings and interpret work instructions, be competent in the use of hand held oxy–fuel burning tools and general workshop machinery and tools specific to fabricating (grinders, disc cutters, guillotines and band saws)
Ideally will have worked in the marine industry with experience of Royal Navy ships and submarines, Royal Fleet Auxiliary vessels or large commercial ships - although other relevant experience will be considered.
At leasrt one of the following qualifications is required for the role:
• Indentured Apprenticeship
• Level 3 Modern Apprenticeship in a sheet metal, structural steel or fabrication related discipline
• Level 3 Engineering qualification relevant to the role

Shift work is a possibility for this role and you will 25% hours uplift of the first 12 weeks and thereafter, 38.7% for back shift work & 50% for weekend back shift & night shift.
