Regional Estimator - Bristol £65,000 - £80,000 + Car, Bonus and Bens



My client is a fully integrated solutions business, delivering mechanical, electrical and instrumentation services globally across various sectors in the energy, infrastructure and industrial markets.


Based on a demonstrable track record in Energy, Industrial, Infrastructure or defence sectors, where understanding of the supply chain, cost bases and customer expectations in these areas has contributed to project & framework awards of the type that will enable the business to thrive in defined market segments, the individual will play a lead role in the compilation & delivery of profitable Onshore tender packages across the UK, providing adhoc support to other Regions as capacity allows.


Responsibilities
* Examine and analyse tender documentation to help develop tender strategy, create cost plans and detailed estimates
* Lead on cost and value estimates internally and externally through full life cycle of RFI, ITT and pre and post-contract award activities
* Highlight potential opportunities & risks with associated mitigations and/or upsides
* Develop and advise on relevant cost models and structures appropriate to different sectors (and segments within sectors) being pursued
* Key advisor to the bid team, ensuring all aspects of the tender documentation are fully understood and properly responded to, advising the team on cost, build-ability and program timelines as appropriate
* Maintain currency of market data, trends and innovations in commercial approach by competitors in a manner consistent with the Code of Business Conduct
* Develop robust pricing windows for scopes in different sectors in the relevant region, ensuring clear understanding of what best price to win competitively should be
* Leverage experience, market knowledge and client understanding to build competitive tender packages from 1st principles and advise on alternative options & value engineering where appropriate
* Evaluate and compare quotations received from suppliers and prepare full priced buildups for internally priced elements of work to assist in supplier and subcontractor selection, ensuring competitiveness
* attend Tender meetings, liaise and negotiate with the Client/Client representatives
* Continually liaise with other relevant departments, service lines and Region teams
* Act as Bid Manager on selected Tenders and Bids
* Recommend and take ownership for development of appropriate commercial estimating software package
