Estimator; based in Blackburn; 6 month contract; £14.75 PAYE per hour

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a Commercial team within a large aerospace/manufacturing company based near Blackburn.Increasing emphasis is given to the performance of Sustainment, as the Production line delivers a growing number of aircraft to front end users, and the number of flying hours increase across all Customers.As a result, Sustainment is a growing area of the business.

As an Estimator, you will be a key individual working as part of the UK based Supply chain team and will be responsible for;
- Systems Spares estimating (End to end estimating process - Estimate Request Form through to estimate assurance and Works Authority)
- Airframe Spares estimating (End to end estimating process - Estimate Request Form through to estimate assurance and Works Authority)
- Support to line manager meetings and internal stakeholder meetings
- Support to negotiations and other tasks as required

As an Estimator you are required to act in accordance with the company processes and policies at all times and to champion the business to follow the commercial policies and processes.

The successful candidate will have a working knowledge of the Commercial processes at all levels of the business. You will have experience of undertaking the estimating-based activities and commercial aspects of Life Cycle Management and other policies and processes.

You will be able to build and maintain key relationships with external and internal stakeholders.

You will manage, document and report against your workloads proactively, ensuring you support the business. This means you identify potential blockers that may prevent the business performing, proactively seek alternative resolutions and ways to remove or go around those blockers, and you flag up any potential impacts or concerns to management ahead of time, to ensure that decisions can be made to support the business. If there is anything preventing you from doing your job, any activity you have been tasked to do, or you need help or guidance, that must also be flagged up to your line leader at the earliest opportunity.

Demonstrate positive behaviours as per the code of conduct and encourage positive behaviours in others.

Desired but not essential is some experience in a sustainment or support environment. As is experience of high volume, fast turnaround Purchase Orders, particularly in the Spares and Repairs arena.

US contracting experience, or experience of other international customers would be an advantage but not essential as training will be given.
