A great opportunity has risen with one of our Nuclear client based in Capenhurst, Chester for an Engineering Placement Student.

The context of the role is to develop 21st century information systems to support the operation of a new and complex chemical facility. The ideal candidate would have an aptitude for developing an understanding of what information is operationally important, how this is best presented to stake holders and how IT systems should be configured to achieve this goal.

The Engineering Placement Student will provide technical assistance within the Process Engineering team:
? Innovate and develop automated processes to aid operation and maintenance of Tails Management Facility
o Plant Visualization
o Configuration Control
o KPI reporting and Metricizing Operational Processes
o Develop and administrate Electronic Document Management & Viewing Software (Viewport)
? Provide assistance to the Plant Performance Specialist in steering UCP towards operating a 21st century plant; through identifying and implementing modern computing techniques.

The job holder will:
? Innovate mechanisms to drive improvement in plant visualisation and process automation
? Provide assistance in maintaining configuration control of process engineering documentation
? Administrate Electronic Document Management and Viewing Software (Maintain tag databases, writing rule sets, identifying failed OCR reads)
? Work proficiently alongside Plant Process Engineers and Plant Performance Specialists
? Work in a highly regulated environment
? Adhere to strict safety protocols

Education and Qualifications Required:
? Completed 3 years of a 5 year sandwich degree (Computer
Science / Chemical Engineering)

? Solid ability in a High Level Computer Programming
Language (Preferably VBA / VB.Net)
? An interest in large scale chemical processes.
