Morson has an exciting Permanent opportunity for an Engineering Controller to join the team at RNAS Yeovilton in Somerset on the Wildcat to start towards the end of March or early April 2020.
Wildcat Contractor Maintenance Manager
Supervision of all Line and Hangar Technical and Non-Technical Operations, administration and task planning.
MAIN ACTIVITIES AND TASKS
To hold authorisations to the minimum level required by WCM, this is to include third signature and as detailed in OP 1103 and IAW individual Record of Engineering Authorisations (REA).
Maintain technical currency and authorisation through the training program and reading disseminated information.
To control, via the Ground Crew Supervisor, Flight Line Operations during his duty shift to meet the required flying programme as defined in Section 9 of Wildcat Maintenance Support (WMS) OP System.
Manage and control all Aircraft Ground Movement carried out by Ground Crew during his duty shift by liaising with their Supervisor.
Control of GOLDesp / MoD Form 700C Aircraft Documentation during his duty shift and handing such to the oncoming Engineering Controller at completion of the shift.
Completing GOLDesp procedures IAW WMS OP 408 and JAP(D) 100A-0409-01 series of publications to include post sortie updates.
Short-term maintenance planning using GOLDesp, as directed by the Aircraft Controller for aircraft under his control.
Pre and post Flight briefing and de-briefing of aircrew as required.
Carry out the duties of the Aircraft Controller as required in the absence of the Controller and when detailed by the Manager.
To notify the Squadron Operations of any requirements for Flight-Testing or Ground Runs and carry out any detailed Technical briefs / debriefs for same.
Authorised for co-ordinating signature (clearance for flight) IAW MAP-01 & WMS OP 1103 when authorised in his individual REA.
Determining and authorising the level of Flight Servicing required after maintenance when authorised in his individual REA.
Progressing all MF760 and MF765 in accordance with WMS OP 313 and 461 co-ordinating them before being passed to the WCM Manager.
In conjunction with the squadron operations, allocate aircraft to tasks in accordance with WMS OP 422. To notify the WCM Manager of the proposed flying programme, changes to the flying programme and any issues arising that might affect it.
Job planning and the allocation of resources to aircraft and Hangar facilities tasks, liaising with the Hangar Supervisor.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Qualified to at least ONC in aeronautical engineering having served an aviation engineering apprenticeship and have worked as a manager in military aviation engineering with 3rd signature authorisation level experience for at least 2 years, or (where no ONC or equivalent is held) with relevant experience to 3rd signature level authorisation, with a minimum 5 years' experience.
A full understanding of all aspects of Military aircraft engineering and documentation.
A full understanding of Military aircraft operation in base and field locations.
Current and competent in the use of GOLDesp.
