This role will represent clients in Employment Tribunal proceedings and provide advice and legal opinion to both our clients and the wider business in respect of Personnel and Employment Law issues, being capable of imparting that opinion in a concise and client friendly manner.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • To represent clients in Employment Tribunals,
  • To fully manage Employment Tribunal case files and conduct all work concerned with those files (including financial planning and management),
  • To provide legal opinion on employment law issues and Employment Tribunal/Employment Appeal Tribunal proceedings to clients, colleagues and fellow Advocates,
  • To research employment law issues and prepare briefing documents on new legislation and significant case law,
  • To be a written, in person, online and offline "thought leader" in Employment Law,
  • To assist colleagues in other areas of the business as required,
  • To undertake any other reasonable management request,
  • To ensure that service provision promotes quality and value to customers,
  • To identify additional opportunities for business within existing customer base and liaise with the appropriate department

PERSONAL QUALITIES, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Reasonable PQE,
  • Good knowledge and practical experience of employment law,
  • A proven track record of conducting respondent caseloads from beginning to end in a range of case types from single wage disputes to multiple
  • Claimant/multiple Respondent/multiple claim matters up to and including the
  • Employment Appeal Tribunal,
  • Ability to work autonomously but as part of a wider team,
  • Ability to influence at all levels,
  • Highly self-motivated and driven,
  • An excellent communicator, with outstanding oral, written and listening skills,
  • Strong client facing skills and able to communicate at all levels with a very credible presence

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Law Degree and Diploma in Legal Practice or Barrister at Law
