Technician I, Electronics Repair

Position Summary:
Maintenance Electronics Repair Technician I is responsible for the basic electronic maintenance, test, and repair for Line Replaceable Units for our systems.

Essential Functions:
* Repairs electronic assemblies, mechanical assemblies, and electro-mechanical assemblies, as necessary for the on-going maintenance of the Line Replaceable Units utilized for all systems
* Works with and serves as assistant to other electronics technicians
* Become familiar with the operation, design characteristics of the electronic equipment they work on and become familiar with maintenance procedures and standards
* Use basic test instruments and perform adjustments as necessary
* Carry out prescribed procedures according to an established schedule
* Begins familiarity training for specialized test equipment and basic troubleshooting procedures
* Learn to follow specific layout and schematic diagrams to repair and maintain simple devices and subunits of equipment such as power supplies, oscillators, amplifiers, etc
* Work under close supervision and review, usually carrying out tasks at the specific direction of another technician

Minimum Qualifications:
* High School Diploma or G.E.D.
* Minimum of one (1) years related experience, preferably in the commercial airline and/or aviation product support field, or a two (2) year college level degree in an electronics related field
* Prior military or commercial avionics level 3 component repair experience preferred, in-flight entertainment preferred
* Previous holding of Airframe & Powerplant or Repairement certificates preferred
* Able to meticulously document incoming product condition and maintenance activities with electronic database software
* Solder fluency, to include smt/through-hole/and terminals of all types, IPC/equivalent training preferred
* Pass a seven (7) year background check and pre-employment drug test
* Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
* Basic electronics fundamentals, closed loop and emitting RF preferred
* Computer literate in Microsoft software and in use of digital manuals
* Ability to stay focused and work under pressure
* Understanding and experience troubleshooting with schematic diagrams
* Required to have a basic knowledge of electronic theory and practice, of mathematics, the fundamentals of physics as they relate to electronics
* Ability to quickly learn Federal Aviation Regulations and other governing regulatory requirements
* Ability to use and understand simple test equipment
* Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Strong work ethic
* Willing to think out-of-the-box to solve operational and technical problems

* Industry standard test equipment, ie. Oscilloscope, signal generator, spectrum/network analyzer, etc
