Role Summary This individual will hold, or be working towards, Incorporated Engineer professional status and be a member of a recognised engineering institution with demonstrable successful project experience within the Oil and Gas or Marine Industries. An understanding of UKCS regulatory requirements and classification society rule sets will be required. The individual will work on an upcoming FEED development project for an FPSO conversion. Experience in similar offshore conversion or build projects is required. Responsibilities The individual will work within a small engineering team on an upcoming FEED development project with specific responsibilities to include: 1. Undertaking a functional assessment of legacy ship systems; 2. Developing concept and basic designs for electrical systems; 3. Leading on the development of the following engineering documents; Electrical Equipment Technical Specifications; Electrical System design descriptions/design philosophy documents; Electrical system schematic drawing; Interface documentation; I/O schedules; 4. Undertaking and documenting the following electrical engineering calculations and design assessments Equipment sizing; Fault current calculations; Arc current/incident energy; Protection systems; 5. Participating and chairing internal and external (with customer) design review processes; 6. Leading on engagement with the classification society for Design Approval In Principle; 7. Providing general electrical engineering support to the project team; 8. Produce, review and approve calculations, analyses, drawings, models, design basis documentation and technical reports, in accordance with task and project requirements; 9. Assessing the implications of changes, concessions and queries; 10. Maintaining the engineering configuration, ensuring the overall design intent and integrity is maintained throughout design lifecycle; 11. Evaluate technical issues in order to develop proposals for investigations and/or solutions, including process improvements; 12. Provide support to the Project Manager for the planning, control and delivery of tasks and projects; 13. Make engineering decisions within own sphere of responsibility and delegated authority: 14. Ensure required review, verification and approval of work is undertake; 15. Act as Technical Authority when authorised to do so by Chief Engineer or delegated authority; 16. When assigned fulfil role as Engineering Lead for simple multi discipline tasks and projects. Accountabilities
The individual shall also have the following accountabilities; 1. Be knowledgeable of the content of the Design Lifecycle and the procedures defined therein 2. Establish with the Project Manager the man-hour budget for any assigned task together with expected completion date. 3. Work within the man-hour budget, or advise the Project Manager of expected variation at the earliest opportunity. 4. Provide a technical interface with customers and supply chain at a detailed level 5. Report on schedule and cost plan as required by the Project Manager, to complete assigned task. 6. Take responsibility for the quality of their output and ensure all deliverables are Reviewed, Verified and Approved at the appropriate level, by SQEP resource as defined by the Engineering Assurance Plan. 7. Maintain effective communications with all other disciplines and functional groups associated with the task or project, and when required, with the customer and other Stakeholders. 8. Ensure regular review and maintenance of SQEP record (technical competency frameworks). 9. Undertake project specific role(s) within designated SQEP capability, e.g. Project Technical Authority, Engineering Lead, Safety Lead
