Electrical Repair Person

Our client based in Sunderland are looking for an electrically biased contractor to work day-shift and electrically repair out casting dies . The dies require an inspection to be carried out every three days

The work involves inspecting the internals of the die looking for degradation of the cables and terminations on the die. We also would expect the contractor to repair and replace any NG cables and terminations. The rewire will consist of a wire assembly and insulation implementation onto the die. they require someone with good concentration and a methodical approach to workmanship.

The person will be relied upon heavily to complete a methodical job as the die will have to last for approx. 4 weeks between die turnarounds which will involve a full rewire.
Training would be given to the contractor and the contractor will work hand in hand with the Maintenance technician and the Die maintenance technicians.

The role will be ongoing for the life of the product which would be at least 3 years.
candidates will be of a high electrical standard and must have a knowledge of insulation characteristics and be able to recognise electrical degradation on an electrical circuit and also be able to test for insulation failure and continuity & resistance checking. you would be expected to strip the dies down electrically and then fully rebuild the dies to a standard operation.
