The Senior Engineer will take engineering responsibility for systems defined by the Engineering Manager (Electrical Platform Systems)

The main systems comprising EPS are:

Electrical Platform systems

LV Distribution

Lighting

Small power distribution 230 volt/115 volt

Fire Detection

Cathodic protection

Cable BOM

Main LV Cable route design guidance

Main Platform Route Design Guidance

Electrical Standards

The EPS team also supports the development of electrical system diagrams, cabling system design and electrical supply protection levels for the following interfacing systems:

Power and Propulsion System

Platform Management System

HVAC System

Auxiliary Systems

Outfit Systems

Mission Systems

It is these interfacing systems that will initially be the main focus of the role, but the role may develop to cover any of the above as the project develops.

The level of support will depend upon the level of electrical engineering capability embedded within those system teams.

Tasks associated with the role

ITT (TES/CDRL) detail an ITT and manage the documents associated with these equipment's Including scoring matrix

Produce all calculations Volt Drop /Fault level/Illumination levels and load chart

Create cable details and terminations to allow the population of a cable management database taking into account segregation etc.

Create system schematics or matrix to define the detail of the system

Create and define and locate parts to be modelled

Support FMEA and HAZID requirements

Create guidance routes for platform cables in accordance with class requirements providing details on size of containment and penetrations and agree the Nodal networks produced by Stage 2

Provide earthing details to stage 2

Interface with other systems

Interface with operations

Create design rules for the those systems allocated

Auxiliary Systems

Outfit Systems

Mission Systems

The EPS team will deliver the same detail as required by electrical platform systems with the exception of: -

ITT (TES/CDRL) detail an ITT and manage the documents associated with these equipment's Section 10 of the GTR will be covered by the electrical engineer associated with these systems with regard to scoring

System calculations (non- electrical)

Create and define and locate parts to be modelled

Support FMEA and HAZID requirements unless specific electrical requirements are raised

Interfaces between these systems and systems other than EPS

Interface with operations
