EC&I Systems Lead - Nuclear

Morson International are currently working with a key client in the Nuclear Sector who have a requirement for an EC&I Systems Lead on a permanent basis. This role will be based at our client's Gloucester offices with travel as and when required to their site operations at Wylfa in North Wales. Role Purpose:
 To support development and maintenance of a consistent and aligned schedule for all WN Programme EC&I construction activities in support of the Level 2 integrated planning schedule, which is itself aligned with PPU objectives and the agreed business plan targets.
 To apply nuclear new build EC&I construction experience with ABWR and UK construction methodology and expertise to the development of a Safe, efficient and cost-effective construction plan, undertaking construction optimisation analysis, construction design and constructability, and developing requirements and oversight of the following strategies and their implementation across the EC&I aspects of the WN Programme:
o Construction planning
o Construction execution
o Construction design and constructability
o Quality and Safety
o Interface with commissioning and
o Construction engineering applications.
 To provide construction support for all WN Programme EC&I scope including contract scheduling requirements provision to the Commercial Function and WN-PCSR design support for constructability.
Key Responsibilities:
 Provide EC&I systems construction planning for Nuclear Island, Turbine Island, BoP and Owners scope works
 Support integration of EC&I systems construction and procurement planning into the WN Programme
 Develop and maintain a clear understanding of EC&I systems construction and procurement schedule criticality and risk assessment
 Provide regular reporting to the Construction, Testing and Turnover Manager on development of the construction and planning schedule
 Provide general ABWR EC&I systems construction expertise into the wider Wylfa Newydd Programme
 Provide EC&I systems construction scheduling requirements to Commercial function
 Provide EC&I systems constructability support to design development and WN-PCSR production
 Embed ABWR EC&I systems construction methodology and expertise into Wylfa Newydd plans and arrangements
 Liaise with other functions in PPU, specifically the Sub-Programme functions, to ensure overall integrity of EC&I systems construction and procurement plans
 Liaise with Heads of NI and TI&BoP Sub-Programmes and their CPMs in support of the project management of their respective scope
 Liaise with the Head of Construction EHSS on UK environment, safety and security standards and practice
 Liaise with Head of Engineering Management and the Head of the Design Authority on EC&I systems constructability aspects of design and safety case development

Requirements Mandatory:
 Bachelors degree in an Engineering or Technical subject supplemented by training in schedule control and management
 In receipt of relevant construction management training (including CDM Regulations), or a willingness to undertake such training as defined by the Construction, Testing and Turnover Manager
 Demonstrable track record of success, achievement and learning in career to date, adding value within relevant positions
 Proven experience of providing support to scheduling work on a programme worth £1bn or more
 Demonstrable effective delivery (through self and others) on a high value project with a high civil, structural and architectural engineering content
 Proven experience of providing effective implementation of a project planning strategy
 Ability to communicate effectively and to build productive and collaborative relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders at all levels
 Demonstrable high levels of personal impact and proven ability to influence positive project outcomes
 Demonstrable sound judgement and decision making
 Evidence of using judgement and initiative to benefit project delivery

Requirements Desirable:
 Experience outlined above in the nuclear new build and/or decommissioning sectors
 Experience of working in a high hazard industry and
 Knowledge of programme management and scheduling tools and IT systems.
