Document Controller

Morson International are currently working with a key client in the Nuclear Sector who have a requirement for a contract Document Controller to be based at their offices at Aztec West, Bristol. This is a 12 month initial contract and a competitive hourly rate is on offer to the right candidate.

Key Area of Responsibility
Manage project documentation from creation to retention through to archiving
Maintain a document management system (DMS), manually or electronic
Register and action project documentation
Maintain document history and authentication (versions & revisions)
Control the issue and distribution of project documentation
Ensure all documentation transmitted, transmittals and comment sheets are recorded
Ensure all documentation is correctly authorised, accepted & recorded
Maintain a controlled and secure storage location for project documentation
Conduct a check on all project documentation to ensure the standards are met
Handle documentation in line with project security document security classifications
Carry out required Project Document Reporting
Correct handling of Document Control department and Project Templates
Assist in Internal audits as required
Handover of Documentation, Retention and Archiving
Assist and/or train the technical leads/staff in mastering technical documentation
Capitalise and contribute to the updating of document control's methodology
Support leads in highlighting works information and required deliverables in period
Identify to suppliers their required deliverables and timescales for delivery
Maintain document control mailbox updated
Collect notification requests from the team and programme the DMS
Give or remove appropriate access rights to the DMS users
Write procedures, guidance notes and tutorials
Write down minutes of meeting and circulate for review within 48h
Weekly meeting with client DC team and help develop document mgnt processes
Update and maintain The List of Deliverables (LoD)
Issue Deliverable/Document numbers
Ensure the LOD and Plan are aligned
Update and maintain the List of Applicable Documents
Update and maintain the List of Customer Documents
Assist with Monthly Reports

Sound Knowledge of Document Control and the Records Management process
Working knowledge of Office software
Use of company EDMS and client DMS
Be able to take instruction and good communication skills
Good level of computer literacy
Minimum of 5 GCSEs
Preferable Document Control qualification
