Role: Design Engineer
Location: Prestwick, Scotland.

You will be working as part of the Engineering team that develops upgrades and delivers design
solutions in support of the Regional Aircraft OEM fleet and the Military Aircraft products of BAE
Systems. This is a technical role relating to the Structures and Mechanical aspects of delivering
aircraft modifications. You will undertake design tasks with respect to both new products and the
release of existing design into legacy products.
In the first instance this role will be required to support a Major Modification development
programme to install an Electric Fan and associated equipment on the AVRO RJ aircraft.

Your main responsibilities as a Design Engineer will involve, but not be limited to:
 Conducting a wide range of activities including feasibility studies, research, design, involving
the full Engineering Lifecycle, to meet defined project requirements
 Interpreting existing Design Data
 Updating existing Design Data and developing new solutions using CATIA v5
 Creating new Design Data using CATIA v5
 Understanding aerospace regulations and certification requirements
 Identifying areas of Technical Risk and Opportunity
 Supporting aircraft surveys
 Exhibiting good decision making skills
 Being able to operate effectively with other Engineering disciplines
 Being capable of presenting effectively during design reviews
 Delivering a planned output to Schedule, Quality and Cost
 Ensuring that work is undertaken in accordance with company, safety, environmental,
contractual and business processes, standards, procedures and documentation
 Reporting progress through weekly Operation and Achievement reviews
Your skills and qualifications as a Design Engineer:
 Structures and Mechanical Installation design/ development experience
 CATIA v5 toolset experience
You will be able to work effectively both independently, as well as within a team, with an honest and
