Deputy Engineering Manager

To develop and support the engineering integrity and competency of the Company and to provide the appropriate engineering resource to Projects / Bids.

Key Objectives

* Ensure the engineering competency of the Company in business areas as identified in the Business Plan

* Develop and support a team of engineering based individuals to provide a service to Project / Bid managers, through sound personnel practices and through the administration of
 relevant and effective recruitment
 regular performance appraisal, development and cpd interviews
 employee relations and welfare policies
 evaluation and identification of training needs
 appraisal and grievance counselling interviews

* Act as interface / co-ordinator within NSG on engineering matters

* Ensure the ongoing update and upkeep of engineering library to meet the requirements of the business

* Manage and assign engineering resource to Projects

* Approve reports / design prepared by project team / subcontractors, as appropriate

* Liaise with client on engineering matters as required by the Project Manager

* Communicate with and provide to Project / Bid managers operating and / or engineering information and expertise to ensure that engineering difficulties are identified or anticipated a solution is sought and achieved. In agreement with the client any engineering enquiry is met with an informed source to advise, direct and effect the appropriate course of action and supply of information

* Promulgate and promote the Company's reputation and expertise through media and exhibitions, client meetings, external events, inward visits, and through professional bodies/colleagues etc.

* Contribute to the development of business plans and strategies by input and contribution to the senior management team
