Demolition Manager - Redundant Assets/Chemical Plant Fixed Term Contract - 12 to 18 months duration

Tata Chemicals Europe is of one of Europe's leading producers of sodium carbonate, salt, sodium bicarbonate and other products and our history dates back to 1874 when manufacturing first began in Northwich.

Owned by Tata Chemicals (TCL) in India, we were acquired back in 2005 when we became part of a global company with facilities in Asia, Africa and North America in addition to ourselves in the UK.

Following the closure of our Soda Ash facility at Winnington several years ago, we are now seeking an experienced Demolition Manager, degree qualified in mechanical or civil engineering, to demolish the Winnington Soda Ash and Calcium Chloride Plants.

The primary role is to move from a decommissioning phase to demolition, ensuring that the site and associated activities pose no threat to safety, environment or adjacent production during the whole process.

You will develop and implement a demolition strategy for a number of different plant areas on site and manage the execution of this strategy over a 12 - 18 month period.

This is very much a stand-alone role and so with a proven track record of plant demolition, CDM and contractor management experience, you will have the credibility to engage with external stakeholders specifically the E.A. and H.S.E.to ensure all regulatory requirements are met.

A confident self-starter and decision maker you will also manage the relocation of critical spares and assets to our other sites, site security and explore business opportunities with the aim of maximising the value of the land and assets.

People are at the centre of our company's success and in return for their hard work and commitment, we offer a generous benefits package which includes: 37 days holidays per year, inclusive of Bank Holidays, an additional paid day off each year to volunteer for a good cause in the local community, an excellent contributory Pension scheme, Life insurance, Healthcare and a range of other optional benefit schemes.
