Job Description

Outline

The Data Analyst will be required to extract Business data from various systems, then manipulate it to ensure that it's sufficiently integrated and cleansed to secure Business validation. The Data Analyst will then import the data in to several new systems. Within the Project, this is being done in several cycles allowing the Business to check the data is improving. The Data Analyst will report to the Data Team Leader.

Key Responsibility Areas

The Data Analyst role includes the following accountabilities and responsibilities:
Extraction of data from various existing and authorised systems.
Capture of data plans to enable repeat in readiness for Go-Live.
Data amalgamation and manipulation in line with Business agreements.
Ability to resolve issues with Suppliers.
Working with the Business and Functions to ensure that their data is correct, approved and works within the new systems.

Domain Knowledge

Knowledge of the Defence Industry is advantageous and in particular the area of Export Control compliance.
Technical Expertise

Essential

Must understand DQ rules.
Must have the ability to work independently and manage peer stakeholders.
Demonstrable knowledge of Data Analysis techniques.
Detailed knowledge of CIS studio toolset, specifically in the areas of creating XML files from the source data system to load into the COTS application
Detailed XML experience, in the development, manipulation and loading of the XML file.

Desirable

Identification of cleanse (…though not the undertaking of)
Membership of professional body (ie. IEEE, IIBA, BCS)
Professional Accreditation
