We are looking to recruit a Costbase Analyst to work for a large manufacturing company based in Portsmouth. The jobholder will be responsible for supporting the Costbase team in providing timely and accurate information to management to enable informed decision making and compliant reporting.
The Finance team is at the forefront of driving a cost conscious culture within their maritime business and works as a business partner with the functions and different parts of the business to ensure that the challenges are understood and action plans are in place and being delivered.
Your main responsibilities as a Finance Analyst - Costbase will involve:
- Utilising financial systems to obtain data relating to all aspects of cost of employment and discretionary spend to enable cost base data to be analysed across business streams and functions.
- Supporting the costbase team to ensure that only bona fide costs are reported and assisting with corrective activities where necessary
- Preparing ad-hoc schedules to facilitate management review of all aspect of costbase
- Supporting the development of Management Information and other reporting systems to improve the communication and application of financial data across the business
A formal accounting qualification is not required for this role, but the successful candidate should have a keen interest in finance and may be considering, or have started, studying for a professional qualification.
You will have excellent MS Office skills, particularly Excel, and have a willingness to learn how to use the finance functionality SAP.
You will be motivated by problem solving challenges and able to articulate complex concepts in an understandable manner

You will have confidence, be self-motivated and able to effectively challenge existing processes & procedures. Your communication skills will be excellent and you will possess the ability to connect with stakeholders at all levels in the business.
Please note the pay rate advertised is a LTD pay rate.
