We are currently recruiting for a Cost Management Lead to join the Project Planning Unit, based at our client's headquarters in Gloucester.

Main responsibilities:

  • Leading the implementation of an overall cost management framework for the Portfolio
  • Defining, developing and maintaining the cost management processes and tools to support effective cost management across the Portfolio
  • Working with other Programme Control colleagues to ensure the effective interaction of cost performance with schedule, risk and quality performance
  • Providing support and training in the implementation of 'fit for purpose' cost management practices, including driving the sharing of learning and continuous improvement within the organisation and across the supply chain
  • Establishing and executing and effective means of monitoring and assuring the consistent use of 'fit for purpose' cost management practices within the organisation and across the supply chain
  • Contributing to ensuring that Safety is the overriding priority across the Portfolio through effective application of cost management practice
  • Acting as the SME for cost management across the Portfolio
  • Taking appropriate action and ensuring positive challenge colleagues and the supply chain where cost management standards are not being adhered to
  • Lead on the development and implementation of a cost estimating process and system

Skills and Experience:

  • Demonstrate a track record of success, achievement and learning in career to date, adding value within relevant positions
  • Extensive Programme and/or Project Controls experience that has been gained in large, complex project environments, whether operations, maintenance, capital or revenue
  • Significant experience in implementation of new cost management solutions, including development of key performance indicators, limits systems and reporting requirements
  • Understanding of project governance, assurance and delivery management frameworks,
  • Provide assurance that project cost management activities are robust prior to gate decision points
  • Demonstrate excellent stakeholder relationship management and interpersonal skills with an ability to influence senior stakeholders
  • Ability to ensure delivery through and with other to agreed standards, deadlines and budget
  • Excellent analysis capabilities coupled with a reliable structured method of working
  • Very good knowledge of MS office and appropriate cost management tolls and systems
  • High levels of personal impact and influence
  • Demonstrate sound judgement and decision making
  • Ability to learn, adapt and thrive, delivering value in a changing and evolving organisation
  • Demonstrate consistently high leadership standards and set an inspiring personal example
  • Flexibility and mobility to undertake business travel as required
