We have an opportunity for a Cost Engineer based at Sellafield, Cumbria.
Please note this job role will be inside IR35
Reporting to the Cost Manager, the Cost Engineer will be responsible for providing a comprehensive cost engineering service through the various stages of the project. Responsibilities include:
Collection, monitoring and forecasting of actual cost of work performed (ACWP) against the Control Account structure.
Production of monthly Estimate at Completion (EAC) forecasts for financial year and lifetime project, striving to achieve KPI metrics for forecasting accuracy and timeliness of submission.
Staffing plan reporting and forecasting.
Earned value management and reporting.
Cost variance analysis and trending, identifying areas of concern to the Cost Manager and responsible Control Account Manager (CAM).
Commitment tracking and reporting.
Support the change control process, identifying budget deficits and implementing changes.
Production of weekly & monthly reports, working closely with Planners and CAMs.
The candidate must possess excellent communication skills with the ability to converse effectively within the project controls team and with other disciplines within the wider project, whilst working professionally within a client facing environment.
5-10 years experience of major nuclear construction projects (50M) or similar highly regulated sector.
Proven experience working closely with multi-disciplined engineering, procurement and construction teams.
Proven experience of applying processes and systems to enable accurate cost management.
Proven experience of implementing and applying a robust change control process.
Ability to interrogate programme alignment to costs incurred, with the application of EVM to provide detailed cost variance analysis.
Sound knowledge of all Project Controls practices including planning, estimating and risk management.
Experience of working in a JV and client facing environment.
Well organised and methodical.
Positive and enthusiastic approach.
Able to work with minimal supervision.
Excellent IT skills and knowledge of cost systems, MS Office (particularly Excel).
