We have an excellent opportunity for a COST and PROJECT MANAGER based in Clyde, Scotland

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES for this role will be

Provision of a proactive cost engineering service to bids and projects in accordance with procedures and systems

Monitor and control of commitments and accruals in conjunction with the Project Manager

Monitor and control current control estimate

Prepare and input into project detailed cost reports as per project categorisation criteria and requirements

Prepare detailed financial forecasts as required (generally on a quarterly basis).
Monitor and control of change

Support the PM and Financial Controller in the production and analysis of cost and sale performance

Support the PM to assess the outturn costs and sales

Contribute to the identification of project risks and the quantification of financial impact

Set up, maintenance and control of the cost capture structure in finance systems


Minimum 5 years cost estimating or cost engineering experience in an appropriate sector (nuclear, process engineering, oil and gas or civil engineering)

Sound knowledge of recognised project management and controls principles including Earned Value Management

Good knowledge of the uses of commercial scheduling and estimating software

Minimum HNC level qualification in an engineering discipline, cost engineering or quantity surveying

NVQ Level 3 minimum in Project Controls


Good soft skills, collaborative behaviours
QS background preferred with delivery experience
Familiarity with NEC contracts
Ability to review, analyse and interrogate forecasts
Questioning attitude
Client side experience working on multiple projects
Working knowledge of excel, PowerBI and CEMAR
