Morson International are currently recruiting for a Contracts Manager to join Low Carbon Contracts Company (LCCC); a private limited business, owned by the Secretary of State, who provide a key role in delivering the biggest change to the electricity market since privatisation.. also known as, Electricity Market Reform (EMR).

Forming part of a team of 3 Contracts Managers and reporting into the Lead Contracts Manager, your role will be to participate in the day-to-day relationship and contract management of your group of assigned contracts. You will work in collaboration with UK energy providers to ensure contract terms are met and any problems are dealt with effectively and efficiently.

As Contracts Manager you will:

  • Manage assigned CfDs and associated workload and tasks
  • Raise any emerging issues or suggested improvements to the Head of Contract Management as required, and provide support as required on impact assessments
  • Have ownership and responsibility for assigned CFDs, acting as the Account Manager and managing all contractual processes and issues, including actively identifying and resolving potential disputes, working with Legal to do so
  • Support generators to satisfy requirements, contract requirements and project management prestart date
  • Apply judgement to manage the contracts, based on LCCC's overarching interpretation of the contract
  • Manage the generator monthly reporting and provide generator reporting to Scheme Operations
  • Understand financial and technical analysis and be able to competently procure and manage external advisers to conduct this on LCCC's behalf where necessary

To be successful in this role, you will have strong knowledge of legal, regulatory and contractual management issues along with experience of drafting contacts, maintaining commercial relationships and commercial dispute resolution. As you will be working closely with energy generators, it would be highly desirable if you understand the UK energy landscape and associated regulation. As this role will involve a lot of relationship management, strong communication skills are essential as you will be in regular contact influencing and managing several large contracts.
