Construction Supervisor Mechanical (C.O.W)

Purpose of Job

Reporting to the Senior Clerk of Works, consistently control site works in line with Company Instructions and safety policy and practices. Plan and issue Safe System of Work documents (Permits, Risk Assessed Procedures). Review and monitor contractor procedures and methods of working, collaboratively satisfying the requirements of the UUK work a nd company instruction, security and safety procedures.


You will maintain security and safety of works contractors entering, acting and leaving the UUK site in accordance with the Company Instructions and Safe System of Work.

You will ensure that all project outcomes are compliant to the procured specification for materials and workmanship.

You will oversee the delivery of the contrated quality of product, within the defined project constraints of time and cost in line with company instructions.

You will share knowledge from lessons learned in achieving zero defects at practical completion in quality, documentation, O&M documentation and training.

You will contribute to project opportunity and risk identification in the planning stage.

You will review and advise on contractors project waste management planning using the UUKL metrics and characteristics of good waste planning.

You will maintain a log of continual professional development to evidence your learning and development to show an annual record of learning and development.

Controls and authorises work permits for work by third parties.

Supports the Duty SSO and Permit Office Facilitators to ensure all people working on the enrichment plant and site are working within the plant rules and standards.

Experience Required

Site and construction safety legislation safeguards and practice (CDM, CSCS, TBNNBS (The Triple Bar Nuclear New Build Sites ) & NEBOSH), security protocols, health and environmental legislation and good practice

Effective communication at a site level, Working collaboratively under pressure, managing people in high pressure situations

Supply chain relationships, works control methodologies for managing successful tasks.

Awareness of the Urenco business, from a logistical and operations perspective, Relevant international and national legislation and regulatory philosophies, practice, requirements and guidance desirable.

Relevant design, construction and infrastructure codes, standards and guidance

Urenco processes, procedures and requirements.

Vocational Qualifications

SSOW trained and nominated for the role - with excavation permit, confined space management and working at height management experience / training.
