Communications Officer; Isle of Wight; 6 month (potentially on going) contract; 37 hours per week; £15.00 per hour PAYE.

We are currently recruiting for a Communications Officer based with our client in the Isle of Wight. The purpose of the role is to be the lead for internal communication processes and activities across our client's Isle of Wight business units and be a lead on communications in regard to a transformation project.
Key Responsibilities
Be involved in employee engagement activities to include management of monthly positive climate index, annual EngageMe Employee Survey to include managing logistical arrangements and producing newsletters and action plans to improve staff satisfaction and morale across the business
Lead for managing the internal communication process across both sites to support with key strategic activities including development and roll out of site Business Plans
Advise business in the creation and application of local and specific issue communication plans. Build and maintain a network of internal contacts throughout the organisation, in order to advise senior executives effectively, gather news and make sure that any concerns can be aired
Deliver processes to measure the effectiveness of communications and the morale of the workforce so that the leaders can take appropriate action to improve
Management of all internal communication processes and outputs by producing written and visual communication material either on a regular or as required basis eg magazine, presentations, management and employee newsletters, site notice boards, IT-based, multimedia material, quarterly leadership forums and monthly General Manager highlight reports including podcast production
Organise and oversee arrangements for visits and events at the Isle of Wight business
Involvement in employee engagement programmes including employee benefits programmes (Advantage, Charity Committee etc),employee events (on and off-site) and recognition programmes (Hearts of Gold, Excellence awards etc)
Responsibility for managing all employee events to include Christmas lunch, Summer BBQ
Lead for Employee Awards process
Responsibility for ensuring that both business unit adhere to correct corporate branding standards

The following skills and experience are required for the role:

Essential
Good general business knowledge supported by high standard of written communication skills
Excellent two-way communication and presentation skills
Excellent IT skills including PowerPoint, Excel essential,
Ability to build customer relationships and partnerships
A professional approach and ability to successfully influence people at all levels of the business
A flexible and pragmatic approach to problem solving
Ability to lead change
The role requires occasional commitment outside of normal business hours, including evenings and weekends.
Frequent travel between Isle of Wight sites is expected

Desirable
Skills in InDesign, Illustrator or equivalent graphics packages desirable
