Communications & Publicity Manager - Warrington - 6 Months +

Role to start asap. Any Cavendish base location will be considered.

Job Purpose
* Support the Marketing and Communications Director in the delivery of the external marketing and communications strategy.
* Proactively manage, co-ordinate and deliver the external marketing and communications plan activities including, but not limited to, producing and publishing press releases (PRs), coordinating events and award submissions, planning and delivering communication campaigns and online media related activities for the business.
* Maximise external publicity and opportunities to enhance the reputation of the Company and raise awareness of the Company's capabilities, experience and expertise.

* Support delivery of the organisation's PRs and media engagement, events and awards submissions and social media feed.
* In conjunction with the Marketing and Communications Director, maintain and enhance the reputation of the business through effective communication of company achievements.
* Work with the function and wider business to identify key stories and opportunities for maximising publicity
* Ensure the PR tracker is kept up to date and proactively seek out opportunities for future articles.
* Develop and produce articles aligned with appropriate Company key messages and strategies as directed
* Engage with key trade/industry publications to line up stories, features and articles.
* Take responsibility for maintaining and updating the media distribution lists.
* With the Marketing and Communications Director, provide support to the delivery of business unit level communications and stakeholder engagement plans.
* As agreed with the Marketing and Communications Director, design and deliver communication campaigns using press releases, event attendance, social media and marketing material.
* Support the Marketing and Communications Director in the planning, coordination and support of events.
* Manage and coordinate company-wide award submissions
* Development of external newsletters and marketing material
* Management of the literature library and promo and literature stocks
* Development of the social media platform.
* Tracking and monitoring of website and social media activity and traffic.
* Undertake media monitoring.
* Ad hoc support to internal communications activities when necessary.
* Be an ambassador for the function and represent the business internally and externally (as appropriate).

Skills & Experience:
* Practical understanding and experience of delivering effective communications to a range of audiences
* Experience in copywriting and proof reading.
* A background in project management
* Event management and coordination
* Experience in media relations and engagement
* A self-starter and effective communicator
* Copywriting and proof reading
* Able to think creatively to create compelling feature articles on people and performance
* Presentation and report writing
* Ability to build relationships with a range of stakeholders
* Social media/web skills
* Ready and able to take the initiative and originate action
* Adapts and works effectively with a variety of situations, individuals or groups.

* Educated to degree level or equivalent relevant experience.
