The client is a newly formed organisation established to design, build, commission and operate the first Tails Deconversion Facility within the Business Group. The technology is utilised by other nuclear competitors but will need to be adapted to provide a modern, fit for purpose facility. The facility is business critical in that it will be required to deal with the key enrichment process arising's i.e. tails.
The Commissioning Technician is responsible for the implementation of Active Commissioning activities
To deliver plans and documentation for discrete plant areas to facilitate the safe completion of Active Commissioning.
Ensure commissioning tasks are undertaken in accordance with appropriate site procedures
Understand the safety implications of commissioning on significant facilities prior to undertaking work / Active Commissioning test documentation
Identifying, investigating and evaluating bottlenecks and quality issues
Skills & Expertise
Knowledge of site procedures, ideally worked on the TMF plant
Follow and understand the requirements of test documentation
Understand operating activities as defined in Commissioning Procedures, O & M Manuals and SOP's.
Capable of understanding process deliverables, mechanical and piping drawings, P&IDs, General Arrangements and Isometric drawings
Capable of challenging the above documentation as appropriate
Capable of fault finding when commissioning plant and equipment.
Understanding when plant items have been installed inappropriately on site, and querying the resolution of such issues using the FOB procedure
SQEP'd to work supervised under the project permits
HNC or equivalent experience, or
2 years' experience of operating/ maintaining and/ or commissioning mechanical and process plant and associated systems, or
2 years post apprenticeship experience as a technician in a heavy-duty engineering environment
SC Cleared ideally
