Morson International is looking for Commercial Manager for our client based in Edinburgh
Key Responsibility Areas
Work in multi-disciplined project teams, providing commercial and contract management support
Act as the customer's key point of contact for most contractual matters
Act as the main commercial point of contact for all internal suppliers
Prepare and submit letters of offer
Ensure adherence to targets and deadlines
Assist in the preparation of the Commercial Proposal
Working with the Legal Department and the Project teams, prepare, draft and negotiate Customer terms and conditions of contract and other non-standard agreements
Prepare contract summaries as part of the Business Winning/Lifecycle Management Process
Help manage the bid approval process in accordance with the company's procedures
Work closely with the Procurement function within the IPT's to ensure key Customer Terms and Conditions are flowed down and negotiated into supplier terms and conditions
Support Project meetings as required
Identify areas for personal development to enhance capabilities that add value to the business
Assist in the management of cash receipts and ensure customer adherence to agreed payments terms
Develop a strong customer relationship that enables opportunities for follow on orders and additional work
Help identify key commercial risks and bring them to the attention of the IPT, suggest mitigation activities
Process Customer orders through SAP business management system
Understand and help manage export compliance
Understand and help manage confidential information
Understand and help manage intellectual property
Assist in the identification of alternative commercial models for contracting/ business return that helps secure new business
Skills, Qualification & Knowledge Required
Good influencing/persuasive/negotiating skills
Prior experience of working in Defence and Aerospace industry
Good relationship building skills with cross-functional colleagues, customers and suppliers
A familiarity with SAP and its functionality
Working knowledge of a business finance, profit and loss, margin and mark up, escalation, foreign exchange
Working knowledge of export compliance. ITAR, EAR, import taxes and duties
Working knowledge of Contract Law and its application in the Defence/Aerospace Industry.
Preparing and drafting standard and non-standard agreements
Understanding of Offset/ Industrial Participation
Identifying and understanding commercial risks
Good communication skills, written, oral and presentations skills.
