I am supporting my Leading IT Software Client with the recruitment of a Contracts Executive to support the Commercial team in ensuring that the contractual rights and obligations of the business are clearly defined and that liabilities are reasonably limited for contracts placed on the business along with other commercially administrative tasks.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


Role Aspects

  • Provide commercial Support the Commercial department in the review and negotiation of contracts and contract variations with the aim of establishing clear obligations and acceptable liabilities to safeguard the business interests
  • Support the Commercial department in the negotiation of confidentiality and agent agreements with third parties.
  • Provide, as a subject matter expert, a practising knowledge of;


o Bank Guarantees
o Contract Conditions
o Price Adjustment / Escalation
o Confidentiality agreements
o Agency agreements
o Intellectual Property Rights
o Software licensing

  • Support the Bids and Solutions department in the invitation to tender process to enable an acceptable commercial and contractual response to be prepared
  • Project / Account Management
  • Support and assist Project Managers and Service Account Managers in execution of the Contracts to ensure adherence to the confines of those Contracts to provide early warning of any issues or risks outside of Contract scope
  • Attend monthly Contract and Service Delivery reviews
  • Administer contracts with the objective of timeliness and conformance
  • Support the Head of Commercial and team with any general administrative activities


SKILLS /EXPERIENCE

Essential:

  • Previous commercial related experience
  • An analytical mind is necessary to determine the implications and interdependencies presented in agreements and conditions of contract
  • Knowledge of industry best practice and a demonstrable knowledge of current business custom and practice
  • Highly organised with attention to detail
  • Credible at senior level written and verbal communications
  • Self-motivated with the ability to use own initiative and prioritise tasks
  • Ability to influence others with the confidence to push back to internal and external customers in a positive way where required
  • High level of computer literacy especially Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Willingness to travel globally on occasion
  • HNC/HND/Degree Level or equivalent with a commercial / business / legal bias
