A leading automotive engineering company based in Minworth near Sutton Coldfield are seeking an experienced Machinist, initially for 6 months, the role is likely to be made permanent. Afternoon shift

Role Title: Machinist

Role Purpose:

Undertake machining of products from raw and bought in stock to facilitate the completion of production works orders in a timely manner with high levels of quality and health & Safety to meet the demand of customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Champion and adhere to Health and safety requirements
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings to produce work of an acceptable quality, following the Company's Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Ability to, set and operate CNC machines (where required)
  • Were necessary, use of overhead crane and slinging of loads to facilitate loading of machinery
  • Ability to set and operate CNC turning machines (various)
  • Must be fully conversant in the use of inspection equipment
  • Support Quality Control and improvements where required
  • Proactively identify areas of process that may cause reduction in output and implement corrective actions

Experience:

  • Working in a manufacturing environment
  • Broad understanding of conventional and CNC machining techniques

Hours Work Permanent Afternoons

  • Mon- Thurs 13:45 - 21:30 20 minute paid lunch
  • Fri 10:30- 15:30 15 minute break
  • Total Paid Hours 36.5
