Our client is currently looking for CE Engineering Manager in Northwich on a permanent basis.

Our client is the UK's sole producer of sodium carbonate and sodium bicarbonate, as well as the market leading producer of salt. They are also one of Europe's leading producers of these and other related products.

There are exciting times ahead for them as they embark on major investment across all of their manufacturing sites in Cheshire to grow the business and deliver reliable high quality products into increasingly diverse markets. This programme of investment and development at their Lostock site includes major infrastructure projects that will secure their position as a market leader in the production of Soda Ash.

Job description:

As the site's responsible Engineer for CE you will provide professional guidance to project and maintenance teams and ensure that the site works to good engineering standards, is compliant with all HSE requirements and drive a culture of continuous improvement and CE system reliability in CE installation and practice.

You will be responsible for developing CE policy, standards and procedures to ensure full compliance with legislative obligations and company standards and provide design input to capital projects.

This role provides Line Management to CE Functional Engineers within the Engineering team, and although providing professional guidance to the Maintenance Team their line management is provided through a separate maintenance function.


Person specification:

You'll ideally be degree qualified in an Instrument, Control and Electrical Engineering related subject, with experience in engineering design, electrical and Instrumentation maintenance.

You'll ideally be a Chartered Engineer or working towards chartership in an appropriate engineering discipline.

You will be able to demonstrate a very good understanding of current standards and best practice in CE engineering practice and installations. You will be able to gain respect from your colleagues for your knowledge and experience and your willingness use this to support improving the site. You will be a team player and great at engaging people.

You will be able to quickly assess what needs to be done, develop a plan, gain support for the plan and deliver it in a prioritised and timely fashion.

Experience of continuous improvement, root cause problem solving and equipment reliability would be beneficial.
