We are looking for an experienced CE and I ENGINEER

RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful Candidate will integrate within the CE and I design team, providing support to the RAP workstreams, and working under the Lead Engineer or his nominee for a particular workstream. The current team is split between Risley and Westlakes, and the work will involve co-ordination between both locations.

The project is part way through the Preliminary design phase, and the candidates will be expected to provide CE and I support, as directed, to the multi discipline team.

The work will involve the production of CE and I designs in line with project requirements, as well as providing close liaison and support to all other disciplines and the Safety Case team, ensuring that the project as a whole proceeds without delays.

The work will involve close liaison with the existing plant operators and maintainers, and the candidate will be expected to make numerous visits to the Sellafield site, including active areas, which will include completing site and building inductions.

EDUCATIONAL PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Previous experience of working within existing Sellafield plants or brown field sites is important, but not essential.

The candidate should have at least 2 years experience in a similar role, and should ideally be an Chartered Engineer, or working towards gaining professional status.

They should be able to demonstrate the following competencies:

The ability to work with minimal supervision.
Can produce and maintain key deliverable documents and reports, calculations, schedules, drawings etc. to programme and appropriate quality.
Can liaise and coordinate with other design disciplines and plant engineering in the preliminary detail design process.
Experience and ability to guide younger or less experienced engineers.
Experience in evaluating and reporting design progress.
Can support the CE and I design team in meetings and reviews.
Experience in design and installation in accordance with the IET 18th edition BS7671
Conversant with existing CAE tools e.g. Auto CAD, CAESAR, PDMS

ADDITIONAL
The position is subject to the ability of the candidate to obtain as a minimum baseline personnel security standard clearance and obtain a Sellafield P1 or P4 pass.
The role holder must either hold SC clearance or have started their application, with the belief of the employer that there should be no grounds for this level of clearance to be denied.
