* Leading strategic sourcing activities to achieve cost savings whilst adding value and improving quality provided.
* The Category Manager is responsible for the development and execution of the Category Strategy. These strategies will be developed to align with the companies Global Category Strategies being developed as part of the Global Procurement Transformation.
* The Category Manager will deliver long term improvements in Quality, Cost and Delivery performance and provide competitive advantage to the business. Working as a Category Manager, responsible for the relationship and stakeholder management within the category area. A willingness to travel, and be embedded within a supplier as necessary.
* The Category Manager will provide leadership to the categories and will act as a business consultant by having an intimate knowledge of the global market of their commodity area, including future trends, cost drivers, statutory legislation and developments within the category area.
* Contracting arrangements to allow the business to achieve it's growth strategy
* Performance Manage direct reports in line with business processes
* Negotiating with existing suppliers to leverage off pre-existing relationships whilst also analysing the marketplace to identify potential new suppliers
* Engaging with Senior Stakeholders Investigate and develop a coherent Category Strategy for allocated areas
* Develop and maintain effective professional relationships with suppliers within allocated areas
* Develop to understand the needs of the business, whilst influencing and managing them effectively to promote the value of Procurement
