Our client a leading Oil & Gas Operator are seeking x 2 Cataloguers for approx 6 month contract roles based in Aberdeen.

Position Overview

The role is responsible for ensuring that an accurate Item Master is maintained in Maximo in support of all Assets both onshore and offshore. To create and keep current all Items Master data and associated Bill of Materials (BOM's) for consumable items, equipment and spare parts. This position will report directly to the Procurement & Inventory Manager

Accountabilities

Demonstrate commitment towards ensuring effective and efficient Item Masters through best practices in cataloguing management
Support and guide all Asset Requisitioners, Buyers, Contract Analysts, Material Controllers in the increased use of Item Masters to avoid unnecessary free text requisitions
Guide and Support those involved in cataloguing processes
Drive and support continuous improvement and change activities






Key Duties

Create and maintain Item Masters
Create and maintain bill of materials (BOM)
Liaise with Assets and vendors coordinating the preparation of Item Masters data
Ensure that requests for Items Masters data is complete and meets the required standards
Capture the relevant information from manufacturer's catalogues, SPIR forms and other reference documents
Ensure that the finished materials catalogue description in Maximo can be used by the Buyers to replenish without additional information
Review existing Maximo catalogue data and ensure relevant information is suitably enhanced, properly checked for errors and duplications, in order to maintain the highest possible standards in the Item Master (catalogue)
Standardise the description format in a logical sequence based on the guidelines contained in the Work Instructions document. Verify that the technical description is maintained according to the proscribed cataloguing standards using noun, modifier and attributes. Ensure technical information is relevant and accurate
Assist in calculating the required inventory level parameters based on forecasted usage and supply lead time
Update, as required, all the relevant information in the Maximo Item Master and ensure all required fields are accurately completed
Assist requisition originators, end users, Buyers and the Materials Controllers in identifying the correct materials both for stock issue and purchasing and resolve queries related to cataloguing
Coordinate with end users to obtain specific data from suppliers to correctly identify the materials in stock, or to create accurate catalogue descriptions when there is no physical stock and assist Buyers in specifying the right items to the supplier based on technically correct descriptions

Education Attainment & Accreditation

HND or equivalent in Business, Finance or Law or suitable equivalent experience through on the job training and development
Post Graduate Diploma or Master's Degree (or equivalent) in Supply Chain Management or Commercial Law
Fully qualified Member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) or working towards member status

Professional Skills & Experience

Good knowledge of Materials Management Processes and its implementations in Maximo preferably with an Operator or Tier 1 Contractor
Good knowledge of SCM end to end processes and their implementation via Maximo
Excellent experience with ERP/EAMS systems (specifically Maximo) and other associated SCM systems and their application and reporting capabilities in relation to Materials Management
Knowledge of improvement and change management methods

Interpersonal Skills & Qualities


Must be able to work effectively within a multi-functional team
Must be able to communicate effectively with "in-house" and remote team members
Must have good influencing skills & negotiation skills

Circumstances

Ability to travel to RSRUK sites outside of Aberdeen and offshore installations as required by the business and undertake any medical or training courses required for such necessary travel
Ability to travel to supplier/contractor premises outside of Aberdeen as required by the business
