Our Kings Norton Client has a requirement for a Capital Equipment Specialist to undertake the below fixed term 12 month contract role.
As part of the Projects team supporting the transfer of aircraft programs to a new manufacturing site, the Capital Equipment Specialist is responsible for identifying capable manufacturing process equipment from the specified technical and manufacturing requirements.
Review and understand the existing plant machinery and equipment. Confirm technical requirements for the new location;
Draft specifications and equipment scopes based around technical and manufacturing requirements (e.g. max monthly production rate etc.);
Shortlisting potential suppliers and validating proposed specifications;
Where applicable, cooperate with maintenance personnel during equipment installation and validation;
Interact with vendors and suppliers and consider critical path lines to stay on schedule.
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, FORMAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Working knowledge of aerospace product development and associated manufacturing processes
Ability to understand and challenge plant documentation and drawings
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment
Great troubleshooting skills
Excellent organization and time-management
Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously
PC software proficiency
Strong background within a manufacturing environment or equivalent Aerospace and/or Tier One
Engineering or Manufacturing Related Degree or equivalent years of experience.
- 25% of the time will involve international travel (China and California, USA) and it is often at short notice so flexibility is required.
- There will be some UK travel
