Capability Development & Integration Engineer

Location: Warton

Duration: 6 months

Rate: £35 per hour LTD

Our client is seeking a Capability Development & Integration Engineer / Support Integration Engineer to assist the Weapon System Integration Management Team in the definition, design and implementation of any new or ongoing Engineering Capability Development and Integration activities including improvements and initiatives.

Responsibilities include:

  • Organising and / or supporting of relevant workshops
  • Creation or amendment of new / existing processes and process standards
  • Implementation plans and general guidance documents in line with any deliverable timescales applicable to the subject task
  • Assist the Weapon System Integration Management Team in the production and / or maintenance of a suite of documentation aligned to the Quality and Governance requirements of Weapon System Integration
  • Deliver the revised joint Platform and Support Integrated Capability Route Map and associated deliverables as directed
  • Provide direct assistance to the Typhoon Product Technical Authority(s) on matters in relation to the Integration of the Platform
  • Provide direct assistance to the Typhoon Product Technical Authority(s) in relation to Safety matters
  • Co-ordinate and maintain the integration activities required of the Process Standard to govern and deliver an Integrated Capability Statement
  • Use the process standard to confirm effective process operation with a view to formally issuing a final Process Standard in accordance with set time scales

Proven Ability / Key Skills

  • Strong Support Engineering background and also broader knowledge of the link and relationship with Systems / Enterprise Engineering
  • Experienced in solving challenging Engineering Issues with Senior Engineers
  • Ability to manage through influence rather than direct control at all levels of the organisation
  • Ability to manage activities to an agreed programme with fixed milestones and deliverables
  • Ability to harness the technical strengths of a team in a diverse and complex environment


Due to the sensitive nature of the product all applicants must have worked within the Defence / Military industry within the last 12 months or be capable of obtaining Security Clearance (SC level minimum).
