CAD Technician
Morson are currently working with a high profile Aerospace company based in the Bristol Area and have a requirement for a CAD Technician to join the team on a 13 month contract basis to cover Maternity leave. Rate of pay is £17.56 PAYE.

CAD Technician - Job description:
- Strong work experience and knowledge in fundamentals of Autodesk AutoCad 2D software (working with layers, dynamic blocks, attributes, dimensions, viewports, scales and external files)
- Use of Autodesk AutoCad 2D software to create drawings in accordance with the company's standards
- Create high-quality detailed technical drawings and plans based on designs supplied by engineers and designers.
- Prepare conceptual drawings or make modifications/ updates to existing layouts.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Drawing control for 3 Bristol sites (Filton, Western Approach and Global Technology Centre) with 10+ production buildings
- Work and support within a number of different departments:
- New work project team
- Maintenance
- Health & Safety
- Environment
- Industrial engineers
- Architects
- Keeping a register of existing drawings
- Work with different specialties:
- Architectural drawings (structural designs for new construction) under the direction of architects or engineers.
- Civil engineering drawings for Maintenance and Services team (electrical layouts, ductworks and piping systems)
- Mechanical drawings for manufacturing engineers (layouts for production and manufacturing shop floors areas)
- Environmental and Health and Safety drawings (regulatory layouts for fire officers for example: Fire Zone drawings, Building Custodians, Fire Marshal layouts etc.)
- Production management drawings (asset codes management of existing machinery).
- Liaise with engineers and designers to understand their design requirements and provide technical advice to manufacturing and construction technicians
- Provide accurate, high detailed and to scale drawings
- Ensure drawings are compliant with industry and health and safety standards and protocols
- Conduct regular site visits and surveys when required to gain better understanding of the layout and prepare own survey with measurements.
- Present working drawings for use in all stages of the project, tender, construction and installation
- Knowledge of engineering principles and ability to create and read technical drawings
- Working in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to work to tight deadlines to meet agreed targets
- Attending internal meeting with building contractors as required and support project teams
- Ability to be a team player and have a flexible approach to prioritising workload
- Be self-sufficient with minimal supervision
- Assisting with any issue quickly
- Experience within any area of building planning
- Provide approved master drawings and work in progress drawings
- Coordination the collection of data and incorporating this information into drawings, schematics and maps.
- Work hand-in-hand with engineers to convert designs into technical drawings through the use of CAD software
- Good drawing aesthetics
- Portfolio with a few sample of CAD drawings is necessary
- Knowledge of current HSE requirements and UK Building Regulations are additional advantages
