We are currently recruiting for a CAD engineer to support the scope of Digital Engineering (DE) across transport related projects; this encompasses a range of activities all of which are designed to exploit the use of engineering information technology and to drive the business forward using intelligent and connected data.
There will be a particular focus on defining, establishing, integrating, analysing and maintaining the Engineering Information required to manage assets throughout the asset lifecycle. The DE function embraces all roles that work in the engineering information space, for instance, Building Information Modelling (BIM), Computer Aided Design (CAD), Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and the capture and analysis of Survey and Asset Condition data. These roles will require skilled specialists in their field.
Digital Engineering tools will enable the capture and manipulation of the data in the virtual environment, to inform a whole range of asset management and operational decisions. DE will make use of good quality, reliable digital asset information to make effective asset management decisions.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Good understanding of at least one of the related DE tools or methodologies in engineering
- Awareness of developments in DE tools and methodologies such as BIM, CAD, GIS, asset information systems and industry best practices.
- Experience of personal responsibility for providing professional engineering support to major/ projects and maintenance organisation(s), where there are complex interfaces
