Our Oxon based nuclear sector client has a permanent opportunity for a C & M Manager

Purpose of Role:

An experienced Manager with a proven track record of leading and overseeing operational and maintenance activities for a number of large and specialised buildings;

The post holder will be responsible for managing the remaining operations, for managing the teams, for carrying out maintenance and minor project work.

This post would suit an experienced person with proven experience of leading, managing and motivating multi-disciplined technical teams, ideally in a highly regulated environment

The person will need to be educated to degree level in a STEM subject, with a NEBOSH General Certificate; they will have experience of managing operational/maintenance activities and teams in a high regulated environment, with knowledge of safety legislation and experience of staff management, contract management and managing budgets

Key Duties/Responsibilities/Accountabilities

Safety, Environment & Security
* Set out controls to ensure the safe delivery of tasks and ensure compliance with the local and Company Management System
* Establish a safe operational culture and provide safety, security & environmental leadership
* Actively monitor and reinforce safety behaviours.

* Oversee Contractors ensuring they have appropriate levels of supervision and are adhering to safety/environmental controls and delivering the planned work.

Leadership
* Effectively lead, oversee and direct an operational team, monitoring performance and maintaining delivery to plan.
* Establish the correct work ethic and culture within the team.
* Lead on the development and maintenance of your personal skill, knowledge, authorisation and training required for your role.
* Manage budgets within agreed limits and delegations. Reporting performance and potential overs or under spends and provide accurate expenditure forecasts.
* Monitor and manage the performance of direct reports actively supporting those at risk of underperforming, or with unacceptable levels of absence.

Delivery
* Be responsible and accountable for oversight of all activities in B220 and C&M buildings
* Have oversight of the delivery of asset care projects to cost, time and schedule - act as Client under CDM Regs
* Ensure the operations (waste, RIES, HP) in the facility are being carried out safely and in compliance with company arrangements
* Ensure adequate resources (staff and budgets) are available to meet company, regulatory and safety requirements
* Promote and support the effective deployment of company-wide policies, processes, systems and procedures ensuring that at all time the business remains compliant. This includes, but is not limited to, the need to comply with the company's Equality and Diversity Policy and undertake identified associated learning and development activities.

Experience of Operations at a nuclear licenced site or within a comparable industry.
NEBOSH General Certificate

EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of the operational aspects of nuclear or conventional plant
Detailed knowledge of legislation associated with the safety of personnel and plant.
Extensive leadership/management experience and skill to control and motivate large multi discipline teams.
Good communication skills to impart information and guidance on a wide range of topics.
Sufficient knowledge and experience of financial management to exercise effective budgetary control over allocated budgets.
