We are currently supporting one of the world's leading chemicals and agriculture company's recruit a Packaging Buyer, to join their direct procurement function.

We are looking for a procurement professional who achieve the highest level of contribution to profit, growth, and competitive advantage by demonstrable best in class procurement performance and by leveraging global scale and skills in all areas of spend.

Key Responsibilities

  • To be procurement professional who achieves the highest level of contribution to profit, growth, and competitive advantage by demonstrable best in class procurement performance
  • To work in close coordination with counterparts within the regions and in headquarter, ensuring common strategies, standards and the establishment of a regional organisation with global alignment
  • Provide leadership of a defined direct spend packaging category across EMEA, ensuring appropriate resources and capabilities
  • Ensure total control of spend (~$12m) through proper commercial strategies
  • Be the procurement representative in cross functional project teams (SC, Packaging Technology, etc.)
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures
  • Lead and support the management of strategic supplier relationships, including negotiation of major contracts and agreements, contract performance and service delivery
  • Develop and implement category sourcing strategies based on long-term objectives
  • Manage the risks associated with assigned supplier and product base
  • Build and provide expert market knowledge for respective supply markets
  • Align, support and consider global strategies / projects and practices within category

Essential Experience and Qualifications

  • CIPS level 4+ or equivalent
  • Understanding of supply chain operations
  • Experience of SAP procurement-related modules
  • A proven background in a commercial role gained in a procurement environment
  • Experience of working in a multicultural environment
  • Experience within packaging procurement, ideally specifically in bulk packaging
  • Experience in supporting and creating strategies
  • Able to influence stakeholders strategically
  • Able to analyse data from a variety of sources and to integrate them in sourcing decisions
